About
Welcome to Guiding Light Child and Family Services Society.
We are a nonprofit organization based in British Columbia, committed to uplifting individuals, families, and communities through trauma-informed, culturally grounded, and inclusive care. Our mission is to provide essential support through a biopsychosocial lens—addressing not just symptoms, but the full spectrum of emotional, physical, social, and spiritual needs that impact wellness.
At Guiding Light, we offer second-stage housing, addiction recovery programs, counseling services (including free and sliding-scale options), harm reduction support, and donation-based resources such as food, clothing, school supplies, and hygiene items. We proudly serve children, youth, adults, Elders, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, recognizing that healing looks different for everyone.
We also host community events throughout the year, from wellness gatherings and skill-building workshops to seasonal support drives and fundraising initiatives that help us extend our reach.
What sets us apart is our deep belief in emotional safety, belonging, and dignity for all. We integrate Indigenous wisdom, neuroscience, and lived experience to create services that empower people to heal, reconnect, and move forward with purpose.
Thank you for visiting our site. We invite you to explore, connect, and join us in building a compassionate and resilient future—one person at a time.
